⚠ What You Should Do
Remove paint from the Gear change pedal fastening seat surface and install a modified Gear change pedal pivot bolt and additional washer.
Recall Details
Defect: On affected motorcycles due to the proximity of the exhaust to the gear change pivot bolt radiant heat from the exhaust system increases the temperature of the gear change pivot bolt seat causing the painted surface to buckle and the bolt to loosen. In some cases the pivot bolt can fall off and the gear change pedal sags leaving the rider unable to change gear.
Remedy: Remove paint from the Gear change pedal fastening seat surface and install a modified Gear change pedal pivot bolt and additional washer.
