Recall Details

Hazard

The product presents a serious risk of fire as the plug fuse does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1362. The length is below the minimum permitted tolerance. A compliant fuse is required to ensure safe operation of the plug under fault conditions.

The plug face also does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 as the live and neutral pins are too close to the periphery. If there is a surge in the current or a fault with the product, the plug may overheat and ignite, causing a fire. The instructions supplied are considered inadequate and some of the required documentation/markings were not present.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
