Hazard
The electric bike and its components have not been assessed using relevant UK conformity assessment procedures. There is insufficient technical documentation, and a valid Declaration of Conformity was not provided to demonstrate that the e-bike and its lithium-ion battery system had been designed and manufactured in accordance with the applicable safety requirements. In the event of a fault, the battery could overheat, enter thermal runaway and cause a fire.
The product was also supplied with an additional non-compliant two-pin plug which does not conform to BS 1363.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
