The product presents a high risk of fire as the plug fuse does not have a ballast and therefore does not meet the requirements of BS 1362. The ballast ensures the safe operation of the product under fault conditions. If a fault occurs, the plug may overheat and melt, causing the product may catch fire. The melting may also expose live parts, presenting the risk of electric shock.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.
