Recall Details

Hazard

The affected adapters present a serious risk of electric shock and fire as they do not feature any safety shutters, therefore allowing access to live parts. The 3-pin plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 and may not make a secure connection with the mains socket as the plug pins are positioned too close to the edge of the adapter. This increases the risk of accidental contact during insertion or removal, and if the user were to touch a live part, they may receive an electric shock.

Additionally, the adapters do not include any fuse which is required to ensure safe operation under fault conditions. In the event of an electrical surge or fault, the plug may overheat and ignite, causing a fire.

The affected products do not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
