Recall Details
Defect: A small number of Courier vehicles that could potentially develop a touch condition over time between the brake line union nut and the fuel tank. If the brake line union nut connection becomes loose due to a touch condition with the fuel tank the friction with the fuel tank may lead to a brake fluid leak or in some cases a fuel leak from the fuel tank. If a brake fluid leak occurs the driver may notice reduced brake performance followed by a red warning light in the cluster. If a fuel leak occurs there is the potential for fuel to come into contact with hot surfaces from the exhaust system along with a strong smell of fuel.
Remedy: The affected vehicles will be inspected and a protective spacer that was designed to prevent any potential chaffing will be installed.
