Replace the electrohydraulic power steering pumps with optimized electrohydraulic power steering pumps as a precautionary measure on the potentially affected vehicles.

Recall Details

Defect: The electrohydraulic power steering pumps (EHPS) may fail on eActros 983 and eEconic 956 model vehicles. Due to insufficient anti-corrosion protection at the electrical connections and production tolerances the electrohydraulic power steering pumps may fail. If both electrohydraulic power steering pumps at the front axle fail the steering forces suddenly and significantly increase as soon as the second electrohydraulic power steering pump fails.

Remedy: Replace the electrohydraulic power steering pumps with optimized electrohydraulic power steering pumps as a precautionary measure on the potentially affected vehicles.
