Defect: For affected vehicles there is an issue involving the steering gear in the area of the torque sensor for where damage or cracking cannot be ruled out. The consequences are that loss of assistance or in some cases loss of control.

Remedy: Replacement of the the steering box and the steering column intermediate shaft.
