Recall Details
Defect: As part of our continuous quality monitoring we have found that the bearing bushing of the steering gear on the frame support may tear off on the specified Daimler Truck UNIMOG vehicles of the UHE and FGA models. The cause is the possible use of the wrong steel material during the manufacturing of the bearing bushing at our supplier. The use of the wrong steel material for the bearing bushing could lead to embrittlement of the weld seams and consequently tearing of the bearing bushing.
Remedy: On the potentially affected vehicles the material quality of the bearing bushings must be checked and the component must be replaced in the event of abnormalities.
