Name of product: Shimano PRO VIBE Bicycle Stem for Road Racing

Shimano issues recall of certain Pro Vibe alloy stems. The products affected by the recall are identifiable by the prominent silver ‘V’ branding on the faceplate of the stem and the forward-facing mounting bolts. Recall for certain batches of Pro Vibe alloy stems sold since May 2020.

No other stems, including the Vibe Carbon stem, are affected by this issue.

Hazard: corrosion-based cracks may cause lose of control posing risk of injury.

The affected stems can develop corrosion-based cracks at the clamping area of the fork steerer tube, which could lead to the component’s catastrophic failure.This is particularly the case in humid conditions.

Remedy: Stop use & check for dealer return

Owners are advised to stop using them immediately and complete an identification procedure to check if their stem is one from an affected batch.Please contact the dealer from whom you purchased the product originally and return the affected product to them.
