Recall Details
Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as it is not sufficiently earthed. In the event of a fault, accessible metal parts could become live and sock the user. It also presents a risk of fire because it has inadequate internal construction, including wires soldered directly to live and neutral connections. Over time, this may lead to the product overheating and catching fire. The plug face also does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363, which means plugs may not make a secure connection with the socket. Improvements are also required to product documentation and labelling.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
