Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire because the electric bike and its components have not been assessed using the relevant UK conformity assessment procedures and there is no technical documentation or evidence of production control. There is also a risk of foreseeable misuse due to the lack of warnings and instructions on the product, including those relating to the use of PPE.
The product was also provided with a plug that does not conform to BS 1363 because it has no fuse link. A fuse link is required to ensure the safe operation of the product under fault conditions, and itβs absence could lead to the plug overheating and/or exploding.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs and Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.
