The adapter presents a risk of fire because the plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 and has with excessive live and neutral pin sleeve dimensions and an undersized insulated shutter-opening device (ISOD) pin. This means the plug cannot make a secure connection to the socket, which may lead to it overheating and igniting, causing a fire.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
