Recall Details
Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of shearing injury to the upper limbs because the required safety distance between the guillotine blade and the left-hand light curtain (Electrosensitive Protective Device) is not met.
The machine is also inadequately guarded at the rear. It does not effectively prevent access to the knife and back gauge during operation because it has a removable guard not requiring tools to open it and its single sensor interlock did not meet the dual channel sensor requirement and safety performance level in BS EN 1010-3:2002+A1:2009, now replaced by BS EN ISO 1264-3:2023. Side access to the back gauge drive spindle is also possible. The two-hand control with a single contact per switch connected to a standard relay did not meet the required safety performance level of Type IIIC in EN 574:1996 as referenced in BS EN 1010-1:2004+A1:2010. EN 574:1996 is now replaced by BS EN ISO 13851:2019 and BS EN 1010-1:2004+A1:2010 replaced by BS EN ISO 12643-1:2023.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
